Cool & Soothe Summer Skin

Cool & Soothe Summer Skin

Summer heat can make your skin feel like it's roasting on an open fire! Here are Beauty Mark top tips to keep skin cool and fresh during sweltering summer months ~

1. Hydrating mist → Keep a facial mist in your fridge and spritz your face throughout the day. We love keeping the moisturizing mist from Biologique Recherche — L'Eauxygénante — in our bag all summer long. This mist is composed of Edelweiss extract and a specific Biologique Recherche Oxygenating Complex. This facial spray respects the epidermis' acid pH and is recommended for all skin types.

2. Cool compresses → Use a cool, damp washcloth as a compress for the face. You can even make 4x4 cotton compresses with micellaire water from Biologique Recherche to soothe warm skin and remove sweat if you’re out and about. How? Place a stack of 4x4's in a ziplock bag, douse with micellaire water, seal the bag and store in your purse!

3. Avoid letting sweat dry on your face → it’s a recipe for a skincare disaster and can lead to irritation and diffused redness.

4. Add in products with oxygen → Swap a heavier day cream for a lighter oxygenating cream like Crème Vip O2. This is the perfect antipollution cream for healthier, brighter, clearer skin and is recommended for tired skin that is devitalized.

5. Ice your face → Invest in cryosticks from Biologique Recherche. These perfectly designed skin tools hold onto cold temperatures, so store in the fridge or freezer. Rolling them over your face will reduce puffiness and provide an instant cooling sensation.

6. Sheet masks → Biologique Recherche makes a sheet mask for everything → face, neck, eyes, lips. Keep a stash of these masks in the fridge and use on hot days. Besides the heavenly feel, these masks provide intense hydration and plump skin.

7. Hydrate Internally → Drink plenty of water and eat hydrating foods like watermelon, cucumbers, and oranges. Staying hydrated from the inside out helps maintain skin's health and keeps the epidermis cool.

8. Shade and sunscreen → Always wear sunscreen and seek shade when outdoors. In addition, wearing a wide-brimmed hat and UV-protective sunglasses can prevent pigmentation caused by the sun.

9. Lightweight clothing → Wear breathable, lightweight fabrics like cotton or linen. This helps reduce sweat and therefore, skin irritation.

10. Avoid hot showers  → Opt for lukewarm showers or even cool showers instead! Hot water can strip your skin of its' natural oils and exacerbate heat-related skin issues.
